The Ossipee Valley Snowmobile Club had invited us to come and help them fix some water problems at Archers Marsh on the Ossipee Line.  We had a CVRTC club that morning, but Harvey, with his A car, and Me with my Woodings decided to head down as early as we could to get work started.

Harvey arrived before I did with the OVSC and loaded his A car, and the hydrolic dump car onto the rail at Mountain View. The car was backed to Rail Road where Franklin loaded the dump car with fill. I had brought my car to help shuttle workers back and forth, but for the 3 hours that I was there, it was not needed.

Harvey arrived before I did with the OVSC and loaded his A car, and the hydraulic dump car onto the rail at Mountain View. The car was backed to Rail Road where Franklin loaded the dump car with fill. I had brought my car to help shuttle workers back and forth, but for the 3 hours that I was there, it was not needed.

The cool weather caused the rail to remain wet for the most of the morning, making the loaded trip from Rail Road to the marsh tricky on the grades. Franklin loaded the dump car with 3 yards of fill, and the A car required 4 guys sitting over the drive wheels the first few times to give it traction. After several trips the rails started to dry out, and we were able to put a long unseen polish on the rails. The dump car worked great, and we found a few things that needed fixing on it, such as adding suspension to the axles to allow the car to track better when empty (it derailed on Rail Road when empty) and to add a pin to the pivot point to keep it from swinging to the left or right when transporting empty.

By noon we had fixed the first culvert before I had to go, but I heard that they were able to finish the second culvert, and fix some washed out spots before the end of the day.
